Why Regular Dishwasher Cleaning Matters

Dishwashers clean our dishes every day, but over time they slowly become dirty themselves.
Grease, food residue, detergent build-up, and minerals from hard water all collect inside the machine where we can’t see them.

This build-up can cause unpleasant smells, cloudy glasses, poor washing results, and even shorten the life of your dishwasher.

Cleaning your dishwasher regularly with Citric Acid and Washing Soda Ash helps keep the machine working the way it should.

Citric Acid is naturally acidic, which makes it excellent for breaking down mineral build-up, limescale, and residue left behind from hard water. This is especially important in areas with higher mineral content in the water, where scale can build up quickly on the heating element and inside the pipes.

Washing Soda Ash is alkaline, which helps cut through grease, detergent residue, and food oils that collect inside the dishwasher over time. Using both together gives a balanced clean, removing the things that water alone cannot.

If this build-up is not removed, your dishwasher has to work harder to clean, which means more power, more water, and more wear on the machine.

Cleaning your dishwasher every 2–3 months helps to:
• Keep your dishwasher smelling fresh
• Prevent mineral scale and grease build-up
• Improve cleaning performance
• Protect seals and internal parts
• Extend the life of the machine
• Keep your dishes truly clean

Regular maintenance doesn’t need harsh chemicals.
Simple ingredients used properly can keep your dishwasher clean, efficient, and working well for years.
