Discover The Junction: Zero Waste Hub Tour

Ever wondered where your recycling really goes? Join us on a guided tour of The Junction Zero Waste Hub and explore how our community tackles waste responsibly. Peek into the Material Recovery Facility through a six-metre viewing window, learn the correct way to recycle, and see firsthand why there's more to it than you think!

Tours are free for groups, offer hands-on insights, and celebrate our regional commitment to zero-waste goals. You’ll leave equipped with knowledge to make better choices at home—because a cleaner Taranaki starts with each of us.

Please find attached our pre-arrival letter, which outlines H&S guidelines and shows where to park.

  • Please ensure all attendees wear closed-toe shoes (no jandals or sandals)

  • Food or drink is only allowed in the Education room if in reusable containers.

  • Once we enter the MRF (Material Recovery Facility) no late arrivals will be admitted.

  • Unfortunately, we do not have an accessible entrance to our Education room (Upstairs / No elevator).

  • A unisex toilet is available inside the Education room.

  • No photos or videos of EnvrioNZ staff or machinery (please avoid filming or taking photos from the viewing window).

If arriving by private vehicle, we ask that you park in the public car park in front of the REUSE SHOP and assemble outside the shop next to the wooden sculpture.  Please carpool if possible, as parking is limited. A Zero Waste Educator in a high-visibility vest will come and meet you there to start the tour.

The Junction is an active construction site! Please follow all instructions provided and stay safe when visiting!
